The varsity Lady Miners soccer team broke their undefeated winning streak during their last match against the Carson city senators on Tuesday, September 9th.
The Miners were at 5-1-0 on the leader board. After 5 wins against Reed High School (3-1), Spanish Springs High School (3-1), and Hug High School (8-0), in addition to one tie against Reno High School (0-0), they planned to continue this streak into Tuesday. Nevertheless, Carson High School had a different plan.
Working hard in the offseason over the summer and into the preseason, the Senators had not forgotten last year’s loss against Bishop Manogue in October 2024. “Their ball handling was extremely strategic… it wasn’t what we were used to.” Said starting Varsity goalie Storrey Schnarr.
With this win under their belt, the Carson High School senators pushed their record up and now stand at 6-4 which was their third win on their home field.
The Lady miners hit the road for their next game against Damonte Ranch High school tonight at 3:30 p.m. The Lady Mustangs showcase some of the strongest D-fence in the league with a 0.5 goals against average per game. The Lady Miners have their work cut out for them but are planning on showing up to their next match stronger than ever.
