Are you accountable? Can communicate effectively? Do you have a strong sense of organization? If that sounds like you, you would be a perfect candidate for the Commissioner of Clubs and Services position! This is one of the newest roles available for our upcoming 2025 student elections. Compared to previous years, it is a combination of the duties of this year’s Commissioner of Clubs and Commissioner of Service. In doing so, the school hopes to make the ASB (Associated Student Body) smaller and better focused on student responsibility.
This role is centered around fostering service projects and events, as well as promoting our club culture here at Bishop Manogue. The responsibilities of this position include organizing the club fair, managing club events and fundraisers, leading service projects, and promoting participation in volunteer opportunities.
“Commissioner of clubs and service was an amazing way to get my foot into student council without a bunch of pressure.” Hope Crumly shared, our current Commissioner of Clubs. She oversees club events and manages the club fair at the beginning of the year.
Sienna Lamb, our current Commissioner of Service, focuses on promoting volunteer services and charity fundraisers. “My favorite thing about being Commissioner of Service is the ability to work with people around tow song with my school community and form new connections.” Sienna explained, “You are able to build long lasting connections which makes finding service opportunities afterwards really easy.”
Applications for this vital position are now open. Only 2-3 candidates will be selected to run for Commissioner of Clubs and Service in the 2025 student election. If you are interested, go to your grade level Blackbaud and fill out an application to submit to Mr. DeRuyter at craig.deruyter @bishopmanogue.org. Applications will be due this Friday, January 24. Let the elections begin!
