As evidenced by the posters around the school, Student Elections are coming up, and we will vote for our commissioners and representatives very soon.
I asked our Commissioner of Events why they believe they should get this position, and what strengths they have that fit this job. Here are their responses:
Gemma Brunetti, sophomore:
“I believe I should be Commissioner of Events because I have gone through a whole year of ASB already, and have not just seen but have participated in the planning and execution of events for rallies, school-spirit dress up days, after school activities, and dances. Some of my strengths that make me fit for this job are event planning/coordination with the admin and our student body, communicating with my peers and teachers, scheduling in a timely order, and using all my resources to increase school spirit.”
Chloe Wessel, junior:
“I believe I should be the Commissioner of Events because I enjoy leadership and brainstorming ideas with others to come up with themes and events for spirit weeks. I like the energy that spirit weeks bring to Manogue, and it’s always fun when people can participate and enjoy it. I am good at communicating with both adults and students to help execute ideas that everyone will love and enjoy, and I feel that I can also come up with alternative ideas if the original plans don’t get approved and need to be modified.”
Isabelle Cannon, junior:
“I believe that I should be commissioner of events because building events is one of my favorite things to do. I love working with other people and coming up with fun events for people to enjoy. I am fit for this job because I am very organized, I am able to work with other people well, and I have great leadership skills. I feel that I am perfect for this job.”
Student Elections are this Friday, February 7th.
