The Sophomore President/Vice President nominees are Cole Howard, Leila Rawson, and Gianna Shea. We asked them what key issues or initiatives they will focus on as President/Vice President.
Cole Howard said, “Hello Bishop Manogue! I’m Cole Howard, and I’m running to be your Sophomore class President. I’ve been a part of leadership teams in both elementary and middle school. During my middle school years, I started the school news at Marce Herz. This led to ten TVs being installed which displayed informative slides to enhance communication with students and staff. I would say communications is my specialty. Now, I’m bringing all of these experiences with me to Bishop Manogue.
As Sophomore class President, I will focus on key issues that matter to you. One of the biggest challenges facing the Class of 2028 is a lack of clear representation. A lot of students are asking, “Who do I talk to about my concerns or ideas?” Right now, the process isn’t clear enough, and that can be frustrating.
I have a solution to make this easier. First, I will send out Google Forms periodically to gather feedback from everyone. This will give each of you a chance to share your thoughts and concerns. In addition, we already have an Instagram page up and running for my campaign. If elected, I will use it as a direct communication channel where students can message me or leave comments on check-in posts. I will take this input and share it with ASB to make sure your voices are heard in every meeting.
This system will ensure we have clear and direct communication, allowing us to address any issue that comes up quickly and effectively. With this approach, we’ll be able to adapt and tackle whatever challenges the year throws our way. Please feel free to check out my campaign Instagram account @howardforprez2028
Remember, a vote for Cole is an ace in the hole!”
Lelia Rawson said, “I am using Instagram and Snapchat to promote my run for President. I am focused on listening to what my peers want and making sure that their ideas are heard in ASB meetings. I am always listening to you. This relates to my platform because it is focused on what my classmates need and want. I will always be listening to their ideas.”
Gianna Shea said, “As the sophomore class president, my primary focus will be on building a strong relationship with the leadership team and the student body. I have heard from many students who feel disconnected from the leadership team and are unaware of their contributions to our school. I plan to build a connection to improve communication and create a forward-looking bond.
As president, I will strive to listen to my classmates and effectively communicate their needs. I aim to create a supportive and trusting relationship between the class, our council, and the leadership team. This connection will help us communicate, ensure our voices will be heard, and allow us to address any concerns.”
