Bishop Manogue Catholic High School’s Fine Arts Department is gearing up for its much anticipated production of Grease, set to hit the stage March 6-9. With cast members and technicians dedicating many after school hours to rehearsal, set design, and choreography, excitement and nerves are building as opening night approaches.
The production, directed by Mrs. Hilliard and Mr. Rossolo and choreographed by Jonathan Dummar, plans to bring the 1950’s rock-and-roll musical to life. Performances will take place in the small gym on March 6-8 at 7:00 pm and March 9 at 2:00 pm. You can purchase tickets through the QR codes around the school or in the Miner Wire.
Students in the cast and crew have been rehearsing since early January, balancing school with late-night rehearsals and set builds. Senior Cade Patten, who plays Danny Zuko, expressed enthusiasm about the experience.
“We have all put so much effort into making this production the best it can be, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
In addition to the actors, the behind the scenes team to perfect lighting, sound, and costumes to make sure the audience fully experiences Rydell High. Choreographer Mr. Dummar has been leading the cast through the shows dance sequences, ensuring that the cast is all high energy and enthusiastic on stage.
With opening night just a week away, anticipation begins to build among cast members and staff. Those interested in seeing the show can check the Miner Wire and the QR codes for ticket availability. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, but be careful because they are expecting some sold out shows!
