Bishop Manogue Baseball kicked off their season in Las Vegas, the Miners went 3-2 overall on the weekend. Defeating Shadow Ridge, Legacy, and Sierra Vista while facing defeats from Palo Verde- defending state Champions- and Centennial, who is ranked 6th in Nevada according Prep Baseball Report Nevada.
In their first game on Thursday, February 27, Manogue defeated Shadow Ridge in a blow out. Keenan Dolan and Slade Morin threw a combined no-hitter through five innings- mercy rule- with a final score of 14-2. Jaxsyn Durst was 3-3 with a triple and Blaise Czyz was 3-4 with a double, a home run, and 3 RBIs.

In their second game, the Miners fell to Centennial 10-3, despite only trailing 4-3 going into the bottom of the fith. Starting pitcher Wade Huntsman recorded seven strikeouts, while Keenan Dolan scored two of the Miners’ three runs.
On Friday, February 28, the Miners took a challenge to play Palo Verde, whom they lost to in the 2024 state tournament 1-0. Manogue put up a strong fight, losing 13-10 in a shootout. Rylan Martyka was 2-3 and scored two runs, Keenan Dolan had 4 RBIs and a homerun, and Grady Montoya scored two runs with a stolen base.

The Miners bounced back in their second game of the day defeating Legacy 12-7, overcoming a 7-6 deficit going into the sixth inning. Dalton Pingree went 4-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, Kyle Glenn was 3-5 scoring two runs, and Blaise Czyz hit is second home run of the season. Jackson Burgess was the inning pitcher for Bishop Manogue.

In their final game of the tournament, Manogue defeated Sierra Vista 5-1, control the entire game. Nate Lemiuex was the winning pitcher only allowing three hits and one run in 5.2 innings pitched. Jackson Burgess came in to close for the miners with a perfect 1.1 innings.

Bishop Manogue takes off to the Bay Area for three games against Casa Grande, Windsor, and Marin Catholic, March 6-8.
