When she’s not leading crowds at games and rallies, Haedynn Maldonado is planning ahead. No, not just for college, but for her senior year as Student Body President. The Varsity Cheerleader says she loves being involved on campus and hopes to inspire others to do the same. “We plan to have more fun events; the goal is to get more upperclassmen involvement, too.”
Haedynn, who you might recognize from Miner TV, is big on communication. She wants to be an approachable student leader who listens. “If you have an idea please reach out. There are going to be Google forms to get student opinions. We also want to plan more events that will encourage bonding throughout all the grade levels.” From dances to spirit days, “We plan to get even more creative with dress up themes and get student input through Student Council.”
Uniting the student body is important to Haedynn. In our school of less than 800 students, she believes everyone should have a voice and feel included – no matter if they’re a senior or a freshman. She remembers what it felt like starting Manogue in 2022. “I was at the Freshman BBQ and I met Eva Damonte who was the Student Body President at the time. She was such a role model for me. She was so kind and welcoming. I want to make people feel how she made me feel.”
Haedynn is thrilled to have a team of talented student leaders and supportive teachers in her corner. She knows she can’t do it alone and she won’t have to. Manogue is so excited to see what Haedynn has in store, and we are looking forward to the 2025-26 school year. Your Miner Family will be cheering you on, too, Haedynn. Go Miners!
