Bishop Manogue kicked off the start of the 2025 school year with their Welcome Back Spirit Week last week. Students were encouraged to dress up for a variety of spirit days relating to a collection of ‘returning home’ movies, such as Finding Nemo and the Wizard of Oz. The students, new and returning, showed their spirit by going all-out and dressing up for each themed day.

This year, the overall theme of the week was “Welcome Home,” which was represented through a variety of movies. Each day a separate film, the spirit days were based off of Toy Story, Up, Finding Nemo, Spiderman: Homecoming, and The Wizard of Oz. From there, each film had a corresponding outfit theme. For example, students and faculty were decked out in their Superhero wear for Spiderman: Homecoming. 

Student participation was high this year, and the rally at the end of the week really the cherry on top of an amazing week of welcoming the Miners back into the gold mine. Various members of student council dressed as beloved characters from the Wizard of Oz on rally day, which was one of the most notable moments of the week. Welcome back week is always a well-received way to slowly re-enter the school year with some help from some top-notch spirit wear! Welcome back, Miners!
