The Bishop Manogue football team fell to the Rocklin Thunder last Friday, August 29th at home, 28-23.
The Miners gave Rocklin a good fight, leading the game going into the second half. Manogue quarterback Brandon Mann had three touchdowns and threw for 185 yards. Nate Simmons worked well with Mann, tallying 133 receiving yards. Last Friday’s game was much closer than last year’s matchup against Rocklin, where Manogue was defeated 48-17. Coach Schneider reflected on the game, saying, “We played a tough, talented team out of California and just fell short. We did some good things offensively, defensively, and on special teams. We as coaches are proud of the way our kids are playing, but we’re going to have to get better each day in practice to improve on all game facets going forward.” The game was the team’s first home game of the season. The team’s record is now 1-2, but they will be back at it this Saturday. Their next game is on Saturday, September 6th at 4:00 at home against Pittsburg, so show up and show out!
