This summer, Bishop Manogue Students have the opportunity to experience a fully funded trip abroad through the AFS Study Abroad Scholarship. This program is not just about travel but about personal growth, cultural exchange, and experiencing the world beyond Reno. Applying for this scholarship is a chance to grow as a person while exploring a part the world in a way you may never have the chance to again.
The scholarship, funded by a generous donor, covers tuition, travel, and lodging for the selected Bishop Manogue students who will spend several weeks immersing themselves in a new culture and learning the language of locals. The students who went last year returned with stories of friendship, independence, and eye-opening experiences that changed how they see the world. “I studied abroad in France for 4 weeks this summer. It was an incredible experience!” said Sienna Schopper, senior, who received the scholarship last year, “I took language classes, visited over 10 different cities in the South of France, and met people from all over the world.”
Opportunities like this are rare. Not only is it completely paid for, but it also looks amazing on college applications, builds confidence, immerses you in another language, and gives you a chance to see life from a totally different perspective. If you have ever been curious to learn about another culture, travel, or push yourself out of your comfort zone, this is your moment.
The information session will be held Thursday, October 2nd at 1 PM in the Student Commons. Show up, ask questions, and apply!
