The quarterly Senior Lunch-In, thanks to the contribution of Manogue parents, was filled with food, games, and opportunities to win gift cards, taking place in the small gym on Friday. Seniors had a great opportunity to spend time with their fellow classmates while also getting the chance to win prizes.
The seniors and parents congregated in the small gym at 1:00, a huge line forming incredibly quickly. It was a buffet style setup, with parents on one side and kids on the other. Barbecue, sloppy joe-esque sandwiches were served, individual bags of chips were available, and cookies, rice-crispy treats, and brownies could also be found on the tables! Waters and assorted soft drinks were in coolers on the side. Students filled the bleachers, eating their food and talking with their friends! However, most students were not favorable of the barbecue chicken sandwiches. One student, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that “These are unbelievably mid sandwiches, they should’ve just gotten Canes or something.”
To end the lunch on a good note, a game was played with a volunteer parent leading the charge. You would have to look in your backpack and find an item that she would tell you to look for, and the first person to grab it and show her got to pick a random gift card! Ice cream from Handel’s was served afterwards. I must say, this Senior Lunch-In has gotten me very excited for future food festivities!
