Boys’ Soccer suffered a 3-0 defeat against Damonte Ranch on Wednesday. They held out for the first half of the game, where both teams were tied at 0-0. However, in the second half, the boys conceded 3 late goals and had no goals to respond with. So far, their overall record is 2-10, and their league record is 1-5. This is where the potential playoff entry is still possible.
Currently, Manogue is 5th in their league, right behind Galena, whose league record is 2-4. Manogue has three more games left on its schedule: Douglas, Wooster, and Reed. Both Douglas and Wooster are in the same league as Manogue. Therefore, if Manogue can win these two league games, they could potentially boost their record over Galena. According to Tanner Ewing, the starting right-back, “If we can win these two games, we’d have a good enough league record to go to regionals.”
To put it in simple terms, these next two games are crucial for Manogue. They haven’t had the best season, but if they can make it to the playoffs, they could get hot and potentially win regionals.
