Manogue’s Boy’s JV Soccer team fell 0-5 against Damonte Ranch High School in a tough matchup on Wednesday, October 1, with the game ending minutes before the final whistle.
Despite the scoreboard, Manogue players showed great grit and resilience. Defender Gino (#38) made a great play by charging into a Damonte forward to clear the ball just feet away from the goal, preventing what looked like a definite score. The Miners’ goalkeeper (#8) also had great defense, stopping multiple shots throughout the game and keeping the Mustangs back.
In the second half, the team seemed to have gained a second wind. They showed some of the most hustle and “giddy-up” the team has shown most of the season. The team didn’t quit when the score wasn’t in their favor, and continued to fight for the game.
Hopefully Manogue will bounce back quickly. For anyone hoping to catch another Manogue soccer game, JV Boys has a game away against the Douglas Tigers at 1:30pm, followed soon after by Varsity, also away against the Douglas Tigers at 3:15pm, both on October 4th.
