The leadership summer internship programs are returning once again this summer for Bishop Manogue students. Each will have the unique opportunity to learn about exciting summer experiences that could shape their future. The Executive Director of the Leadership Initiatives will be visiting campus on Thursday, February 19th, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the big gym to present information about their nationally recognised summer internship programs.
Last year marked Bishop Manogue’s first year as a partner school with Leadership Initiatives, and the results were incredible. Twenty-nine students travelled to Georgetown University to participate in nine different academic programs. These programs covered a wide range of interests, including Criminal Law and Trial, Advanced Medical and Public Health, and other career-focused fields designed to give students real-world exposure.
What makes this opportunity so meaningful is that it goes beyond a typical summer camp. Students gain hands-on experience, learn from professionals, and build connections with peers from across the country. Participation in a program like this can help students discover potential career paths, strengthen college applications, and grow in confidence and leadership skills. Being immersed in a college environment like Georgetown University also gives students a glimpse into what life after high school could look like.
Thursday’s presentation is a chance to explore possibilities and ask questions directly to the organisation’s Executive Director. Whether you’re interested in law, medicine, business, or public health, this could be the summer experience that helps define your goals and passions. Students and families are encouraged to complete the interest form that can be found in the Miner Wire and attend the presentation to learn more about how they can be part of this exciting opportunity.
