The Junior Class President is pivotal for fostering communication, encouraging participation, and advocating for your class within the school community. As the Junior Class President, they will manage communication about events, promote class involvement in activities, report on participation, and represent your classmates’ needs in Leadership/ASB meetings. In summary, they will be the connection between the Class of 2028 and the Associated Student Body (ASB).
These are the questions that the candidates had the choice of answering:
Who are you? A brief bio, no more than a couple of sentences
Why would you be good at that position?
Why do you want to be in a student body role? In that specific role?
What would you do differently? What would you focus on?
What do you love about Manogue?
Cole Howard:

Who are you? A brief bio, no more than a couple of sentences
Hello Class of 2028! My name is Cole Howard, and I’ve had the privilege of serving as your Sophomore Class President this year. It has truly meant a lot to represent our class, and I would be honored to continue serving as your president next year.
Why would you be good at that position?
Over the past year, I’ve focused on listening and learning what you’ve enjoyed, what you’d like to see improved, and how we can make our class experience even better. Your feedback matters to me, and I want to make sure every student feels represented and heard in ASB meetings. Serving this year has given me valuable experience in understanding how ASB works behind the scenes, what processes help events run smoothly, and where we can make positive changes. I hope to use that experience to continue building on what’s working while finding thoughtful ways to improve.
What would you do differently? What would you focus on?
Next year, I also plan to hold class meetings so we can have open conversations about ideas, concerns, and upcoming events. In addition, I would like to create a clear and consistent communication channel through Blackboard or possibly a Google Classroom, so everyone has easy access to updates, reminders, and opportunities to share input. Along with continuing to use my President Instagram page, I want to make sure communication is accessible and organized for everyone.
What do you love about Manogue?
My favorite thing about Manogue is the community. I feel like I know a lot more of my peers than I would at any other high school. When I am in the student section at the football and basketball games, everybody is engaged, cheering, and chanting together. When they say, “Be there, or be square!” it feels like everybody shows up, and that is what makes Manogue truly special.
It has been an honor serving as your Sophomore Class President, and I would love to run it back next year! Remember: A vote for Cole is an ace in the hole!
Leila Rawson:

Who are you? A brief bio, no more than a couple of sentences
My name is Leila Rawson! I am a sophomore at Bishop Manogue and I am running for junior class representative.
Why do you want to be in a student body role? In that specific role?
Since middle school I have been running for positions in ASB and love to be a part of what my school is doing. I like knowing what is going on around me and I love to be involved in our school community.
Why would you be good at that position?
At Manogue I am currently the Sophomore Vice President. I love the role of it: helping at rallies, helping make spirit weeks, and ultimately just being able to bring my ideas to the table. Also at Manogue I am on the girls golf team and was a part of a state championship my freshman year. Through this experience I have learned a lot of team work, which I think is necessary for having a role in ASB.
Colin Sullivan:

Who are you?
Hello, I’m Colin, and I’m running to be your Junior class president for the 2026-2027 school year. You might know me as the nerdy guy who makes dad jokes at the ripe old age of 16!
Why would you be good at that position?
I would be good at this position because not only do I have experience, but I am also very dedicated to very clear and real solutions. I have a concrete plan for what I would do if I win to increase not just the amount of representation, but the efficiency and effectiveness of it.
Why do you want to be in a student body role? In that specific role?
I want to be in a student body role because I am passionate about student government and government in general. I would want this specific role because I can be a good representative due to experience, dedication, and desire to not only think outside the box, but expand the box.
What would you do differently? What would you focus on?
Honestly, the main thing I would do differently would be to place heavy emphasis on polling. I’d use social media, Miner TV, and other platforms to make sure as many people hear about these polls. They would be for people to share their thoughts and requests, and for people to easily show what their highest priorities are.
What do you love about Manogue?
What I love most about Manogue is the people and the opportunity. It amazes me how I went from being the shy kid in the corner of the gym during the first freshman retreat to running for class president, due in no small part to people’s kindness to me. Thank you, Manogue!
