Samantha Skillicorn

1. Who are you?
Hi, I’m Samantha Skillicorn, and I’m a junior at Bishop Manogue. I’m on the lacrosse team and I also work as a ski instructor at Mt.Rose, where I’ve learned leadership, teamwork, and how to stay organized under pressure.
2. Why would you be good at this position?
As a student-athlete and instructor, I know how to balance responsibilities and work with all kinds of people. I think I would be good at this position because I’m dependable, energetic, and committed to making sure events are fun, organized, and inclusive for everyone.
3. What would you do differently? What would you focus on?
I would focus on creating events that bring more students together, not just the same groups every time. I’d also prioritize better promotion of events so more people know what’s happening and feel excited to show up, and show out!
Cannyn Bryant

1. Who are you?
Hi, I’m Cannyn Bryant. I’m a varsity cheerleader and a lacrosse goalie, so I spend a lot of time at games, school events, and anything that brings people together. I really enjoy being involved and helping create school spirit.
2. Why would you be good at this position?
Being in sports has taught me how to stay organized, work with a team, and handle a lot at once without getting stressed out. I’m someone who actually follows through on what I say I will do, and I like making sure things run smoothly instead of turning into chaos.
3. What would you do differently? What would you focus on?
I want school events to feel fun and memorable, not just like another thing on the calendar that people skip. We already have a lot of great events, and I would focus on building on those by adding more student input, new ideas, and small details that make them more exciting. My goal would be to get more people to actually want to show up, participate, and feel included. Because school events should feel exciting, not like another obligation.
Taylor Edelen

1. Who are you?
Hi! My name is Taylor Edelen and I am a junior here at Manogue and I am very involved in the school community. I am a part of miner ministry, varsity competition and sideline cheer, track and field, the spring musical, as well as a sodality board member!
2. Why would you be good at this position?
I believe I would be good as Manogue’s Commissioner of Events because I love being able to plan, organize, and execute events! I already have so many fun ideas of events for manogue and I would love to be able to organize and plan them for our school. I am very organized and pay good attention to detail, and I believe that would help me execute events as smoothly as possible, increase involvement in school events, and make things as fun and interesting as I can! I am also a very open minded person and I am very receptive to feedback. I would work well to listen to all opinions and feedback so that I can make sure to learn from them and work to improve and make the events around school even more enjoyable. Overall, I have a great passion for organizing things and I would love to be able to bring my event ideas to manogue and make sure everyone is getting the most out of their high school experiences!
3. What would you do differently? What would you focus on?
As commissioner of events, I would make sure that everything necessary for the event that I am working on is planned as far as possible in advance so that there aren’t any tentative, last minute decisions or actions needing to be made. Next year, I want to focus heavily on involvement and making sure that we can get as many people as possible to show up, but more importantly, enjoy the event! I can’t wait to focus on bringing new ideas to manogue that can bring more people together and form more of a closeness within the manogue community!
