Peyton Dixon ran the 100m and earned first place with a time of 11.02 seconds. Jacob Romero followed in second place with a time of 11.22 seconds, and earned first place in the 200m with a time of 22.52 seconds. Justin Friedlander earned fourth place in the 200m with a time of 23.22 seconds. Joey Davis scored fifth place in the 800m with a time of 2:04.87, and second place in the 1600m with a time of 4:44.26. Ryan Petzing trailed with a sixth-place finish at a time of 4:49.88. Matthew Stenvold scored 6th place in the 110 Hurdles with a score of 17.77, and in the 300 Hurdles scored 1st place with a score of 40.96. The 4x100m boys relay, comprised of Jacob Romero, Dontell Jackson, Justin Friedlander, and Peyton Dixon, earned first place with a time of 42.70. Josh Malafu earned third place with a score of 42-06.50 in the Shot Put. Logan Kimmel earned first place with a score of 144-01 in Discus. Tommie Brisson earned seventh place with a score of 106.00 in Discus. Elio Barsanti earned seventh place with a High Jump of 5’6”. Nick Baier earned second place in Pole Vault with a jump of 13’6”. Kurt Gayo and Martin Kerr tied and both earned fifth place in Pole Vault with a jump of 10’6”. Dontell Jackson achieved first place in Triple Jump with a jump of 45-08.75. For the girls, Maali DeLeon scored second place in the 100m with a time of 13.10 seconds, sixth in the 200m with a time of 27.32 seconds, and fourth in the 400 with a time of 60.67. Madison Krivan scored third in the 800m with a time of 2:24.48, sixth in the 1600m with a time of 5:35.61, and fourth in the 3200m with a time of 12:32.38. Emma King scored fifth in the hurdles with a time of 49.75, Keighley Bader scored sixth with a time of 50.14. Sydney Lessinger scored third in shot put with a score of 28-10.00, Katia Reyes scored seventh in Discus with a score of 89-04, Shelby Jones scored second in Shot Put with a jump of 10’3”, Audrey Crow scored seventh in Pole Vault with a jump of 7’6”, and Sarah Rawlins scored fifth in Long Jump with a score of 15’11”. Junior Justin Friedlander says of his 4×100 Relay’s appearance at state: “We didn’t compete as well as we wanted, but we still competed with the big Vegas schools and did not place last.” Romero “straight-up cooked” the first leg of his relay, but explains “as a team, we did not do well.” He assures that “it’s okay, because next year we will be back.” The Track and Field team has lots of breadth and depth and is looking forward to a successful 2020 season.
