The Mosquito Fire is Raging Through Northern California

The Mosquito fire rages on, burning a total of 29,585 acres of land in El Dorado County and Placer County. The fire is still zero percent contained as of the evening of September 9th.
The fire is burning through small forest homes and many residents have been told to immediately evacuate. Residents claim that the reason the fire is spreading so fast is because after the heat wave and years of drought it has left the undergrowth of the forest “bone dry.” Thursday evening fire officials told reporters that the fire was endangering 3,666 structures and that “There are approximately 1,700 personnel assigned to the incident.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, as its smoke flows into Reno. The air quality is expected to get better over the next few days but much worse in the Bay Area.
