November 7, 2022
The final two matches of the first annual Miner Detail spikeball tournament were held on Tuesday and it resulted in the expected victory of Ryder and Seabass.
The final semi-final match was between the dynamic duo of Cole and Zane and the reunited duo of Kate and Alex. They had a hard fought rematch that was tied at 4-4, but the wheels fell off of the bus for Kate and Alex and they lost the next seven rallies. Cole and Zane moved on by defeating Alex and Kate 11-4. They had to play the dominant duo of Ryder and Seabass.
Ryder and Seabass won 12-10, the last time these two duos played. The stakes were high and Cole and Zane were looking to win as underdogs. The game was close throughout with good rallies. Seabass had an amazing serve that caught Zane off guard and it caused Seabass and Ryder to win the game at 11-7.
This was the epitome of Seabass and Ryder’s run and they won it all. Seabass said. When asked where to go from here, Seabass said, “We’re probably going to go to state, we’ll definitely try nationals after that.” The future for this duo looks great.
