Bishop Manogue’s girl’s basketball team took on Reed for the final game of the regular season at Reed High in a blowout victory for the Miners, crushing Reed 60-23. The team was led by Fa’anaetaua Puloka and Milasarai Tau.

It was clear from the start of the game the Miners were on a mission and they were going to win. Great offensive performances from Chloe Pane and Fa’anaetaua Puloka helped carry them to a 38-11 lead at the end of the first half. The Reed Raiders couldn’t find any momentum as the Miners defense was too much to handle. They were aggressive and unstoppable on defense and it was difficult for Reed to mount a comeback. The Miners also had a solid three-point outing from Anna Alonso and Gabrielle Sullivan who connected on their shots from beyond the arc which helped them get the massive victory that they got.

The final buzzer sounded and the Miners won 60-23. This victory was the culmination of the regular season as they ended their season with a record of 13-3 Meanwhile the Raiders ended their season with a record of 7-8.

“We are really looking forward to working hard in the playoffs yet again,” Jillian Foster said. “Thank you to all who have supported us along the way.”

The Miners now look forward to the playoffs. The first round of the playoffs starts on February 13th as the Miners wait to see who they’re playing; they will keep practicing to try and become 5A Regional Champions.
