Reno, NV had been named the “wildest city in America”, to much of the nation’s surprise, in a statistical analysis to find the best party city in America.
In the same study, it shows other cities for great amusement for those over 21. One of the cities, however, was put in a spot that appeared as a surprise to most readers.
On May 24, OLBG (Online Betting Guide) statistically looked at which city had the most casinos, clubs, and overall greatest nightlife to determine what was “America’s Wildest City”. They looked at how many clubs were in each city and how many casinos there were per 100,000 residents, among other aspects. They graded how “wild” each city was on a scale of one to ten.
On the list, Reno finished in first place with a score of 8.61/10. Its whopping statistic of 7.90 casinos per 100,000 residents among other aspects earned its spot at the top of the list. Its sister city Las Vegas however, did not make the cut for the top three. The Neon City ranked 4th on this list with a score of 7.26/10, only behind Portland (8.08/10) and Transverse City (7.71).
Vegas’ ranking may mean that they might not be the absolute best place for a good time. While it could be that Vegas has fewer casinos because they focus more on quality than quantity, it doesn’t remove the fact that Reno has more. If the study happens again, Vegas may be able to reach to top spot by then. For now, Reno will wear the crown of “America’s Wildest City”.
