The Bishop Manogue club fair will be continuing at lunch this Wednesday. This is because club leaders want more members for their clubs. The service clubs that will be available are Campus Ministry, Humanitarian Club, National Honors Society, Miner Women and Men, and Sodality. These clubs are here to help students/teachers and help serve the community. For example, the Miner Men and Miner Women help new freshmen with their classes and hang out with them, so they are not alone during lunch. They also set up meetings and they talk with their freshman about life and see how they are holding up.
However, there are not just service clubs available. Social clubs are also available, such as: Film Club, Chess Club, Junior Classical League, Robotics Club, Model United Nations, and Glee Club. These clubs are more for just hanging out with your friends and playing games with peers and teachers. For example, in the Robotics Club, you and your team build a robot, and code it to do specific tasks for the competition, which are called the “Tech Challenges.” I believe they are currently in their “Second Tech Challenge.”
You can also create your own club by filling out a form and visiting Mrs. Burrows, the Dean of Students. Your club must be approved by Mrs. Burrows and must be appropriate for school. There must also be at least 10 people interested in the club already, that are willing to be in leadership positions.
