The Bishop Manogue student body hosted their Welcome Back Spirit Week at the high school the week of August 21st, 2023, and it was a huge success!
Kicking off the new school year right, the Bishop Manogue Miners began the year with loads of school spirit. There were fun new spirit week themes, and students dressed up and showed out at the afterschool events. The theme of the week was “Miners on the Move”, and the spirit days were themed as different places around the world. Students showed their miner pride with their fun outfits and school spirit throughout all the events.
Not only did the students have dress-up days to participate in, but there were fun events like Spikeball and water day to get the students outside and having fun with their classmates. On Wednesday evening, students dressed up with their teammate for the Spikeball tournament and competed against other teams through a bracket managed by student council. Teams brought their gameday faces and rallied for the win to make their way to the championship! This event encouraged a lot of student participation and always is one of the student body favorites for the year. During school Thursday morning, the student council put on an all-school rally to encourage spirit and welcome in the new year with games, cheers, competition, and many more fun things to get the students excited for the year ahead. Thursday after school there was a water field day hosted on the back practice fields. The students endured a vicious water balloon fight and slid across the waterslides while being squirted with water guns. The final event of welcome back week was the school dance Saturday evening on the front patio. Although some students weren’t the biggest fans of the DJ, the miners found a way to enjoy their “Silver Out” dance together and dive right into this new year full of energy, spirit, and family. The miners can’t wait to see what Homecoming Week brings next!
