The Dean of Students have reversed an earlier decision about dress policy last Friday, declaring that female students at BMCHS are now allowed to wear short dresses to homecoming.
Previously, the dresses girls wore had to be long and at least at calf length. But, after multiple complaints from the student body, and even threats of students wanting to throw their own homecoming elsewhere, issues with the policy were brought to the attention of the administration. Brycen Bowers, a Senior in Student council and the Vice President of the student body said, “We negotiated and understood the importance of dress code.”
After negotiating with the student body, the deans decided to reverse the policy. Now, the females of BMCHS are allowed to wear short dresses to homecoming as long as that they send in photos of their dresses to get approved by either Ms. Burrows or Ms. Cope.
