Bishop Manogue faced off against Galena at home on September 8th and they absolutely crushed Galena 41-16 in a thrilling game with a lot of offense and great defense.
One of the standout performances was Manogue’s Phillip Jacobs. He threw for 271 yards as well as threw four touchdown passes. Two of those passes were to wide receiver Ben Scolari. He recorded 92 yards on 4 receptions. Dom Marconato also had a good game receiving-wise, recording 90 yards on 5 receptions. The run game was also going for Manogue. Cody Flesichmann ran for 75 yards as well as a touchdown which really set the tone for the rest of the game.
Galena tried to match those performances, but it was hard when Galena’s quarterback Drey Watson was struggling throughout the entire game. He only threw for 59 yards and he had a quarterback rating of 3.9. Watson also threw two interceptions and didn’t have a single touchdown pass.
Manogue offensive lineman Nate Bray said, “The team played hard and we came out with a win.” There is no better way to describe how the team performed. With all this momentum, it looks like Manogue is poised for another very good season.
