Grand Sierra Resort announced a $1 Billion expansion project on Sept. 27, 2023
This includes a new Home basketball court for the Nevada Men’s Basketball Team. The arena will have more than 10,000 seats, and will span approximately 300,000 square feet. “The new arena will include amenities that create a fan and game experience that are second to none.” Said Brian Sandoval, Reno President.
In addition to the new arena, there will also be expansion on the 140 acre grounds. This will include a Bellagio-style fountain in the Grand bay, a TopGolf, which will be the first TopGolf range into a body of water, an entertainment destination, and a scenic walking path.
The surrounding area will also include a new 800-room hotel tower. The GSR has recognized the need for housing from their growing workforce, and will build approx. 300 riverfront units. “It’s a massive win for our citizens, a win for the University of Nevada and a win for tourism.
