Friday night lights shined in Reno last Friday as Bishop Manogue faced off against their rival Reno High. Manogue came home with a dominating 37-7 win over the Huskies.
The game started off slow with no teams scoring in the first quarter. When the second quarter kicked off Bishop Manogue’s offense started rolling. Quarterback Phillip Jacobs ran the offense perfectly, throwing for 203 passing yards and throwing two touchdown passes, both of which were to Ben Scolari and Dom Marconato. He also did a great job handing the ball off to running back Cody Fleischmann who ran for a remarkable 237 yards and he ran into the endzone 3 times.
Manogue’s defense also performed very well. Salesi Manu and Marrio Williams both sacked Reno’s quarterback, Jaydon Loose. Loose had a bad night only completing 9 out his 20 pass attempts thanks to Manogue’s great effort on defense.
Bishop Manogue will face Damonte Ranch this Friday for the homecoming game as they look to end the regular season on a high note as they head into the postseason. Offensive Lineman Nate Bray said, “We look forward to the matchup and can’t wait to perform in front of everyone during the homecoming game.”
