As winter break speeds towards us, students at Bishop Manogue are eagerly awaiting a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of school. With a little more than two weeks of freedom ahead, the question arises: What activities are there to do on our days off? This article will serve as a guide to new experiences and memorable times. From local festivities to outdoor escapes, let’s dive into the broad spectrum of options that will make this winter break the best winter break ever.
Outdoors
While yes, we have the obvious skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Rose, there’s more to do outside than just that. We have:
Cross Country Skiing
Cross Country skiing across the snow in Reno is one of the best ways to see our own winter wonderland. Reno Tahoe has many trials and guided tours to help you on your journey. Cross country skiing is a family friendly activity for even the smallest member of your family.
Reno-Tahoe Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing really offers a new vision on the world around you, letting you stop and smell the roses, or snow, rather. Snowshoeing in Tahoe is fairly accessible, with many rentals, repairs, and guided tours to make a magical winter experience.
Sleigh rides with Borges Sleigh Rides or Sierra adventures
Sleigh rides are a perfect activity when you want to see the wonders of Tahoe while relaxing. You can take your family and friends along to enjoy the snow-covered Sierra Nevadas.
Snow Tubing
There are many sledding hills in Tahoe, including SnoVentures, Tube Tahoe, and Granlibakken ski and sled hill. It is an activity full of epic sledding and fun.
Snowmobiling
Taking a snowmobile through the Tahoe woods is one of the best ways to see the views. Going on a high speed excursion through the crisp winter air is the best way to wake up in the mornings.
Reno Ice skating
At our very own ice rink, there is a whole bundle of family fun and games. With skate rentals and free skating time, it’s good for people of all levels. Reno Ice is one of the best ways to spend a snowy evening.
