In a delightful celebration of musical talent and holiday spirit, Bishop Manogue Music Department hosted its annual Christmas Piano Recital this past Tuesday night, enchanting the audience with festive tunes performed by the school’s talented piano students.
With students from Beginning Piano A, Beginning Piano B, Intermediate Piano Honors, Advanced Piano Honors, and Instructional Piano Honors, 24 students performed at the concert. With freshmen and seniors, the students played wonderfully. In the spirit of Christmas, all of the pieces were Christmas songs, or Christmas/winter-themed. The recital started with “Ding Dong Merrily on High” by Faber and Faber, played by Saili Peaua, and ended with “Brazilian Sleigh Bells” by Percy Faith, played by Sariah Palacios.
The students worked very hard to perfect their playing, and it was truly a night of beautiful music. The students play a few recitals a year, practicing for months on their pieces in preparation. The next recital will be in the spring, the students will begin learning their new pieces after they return from Christmas break.
