Bishop Manogue’s annual Catholic Schools Week is approaching. Sunday, January 28th through Friday, February 2nd, Bishop Manogue is celebrating the world wide celebration by celebrating our community, celebrating our students, celebrating our nation, celebrating vocations, and celebrating staff & volunteers. Bishop Manogue’s Winterfest week falls on the same week as Catholic Schools week, so you can expect theme days along with events and activities during and after school.
Catholic schools week has been around since 1974 and focuses on the value that Catholic school education provides for students. It also focuses on church contributions and the communities and our nation.
This year’s theme for Catholic Schools week is, “United in Faith and Community”. This theme will be used through Catholic Schools Week 2026. This week is organized by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and their goal is to showcase the impact of Catholic Education for students. Bishop Manogue’s mission statement is “Educating through faith, leadership, knowledge, and compassion” which coincides with the focus of this year’s Catholic Schools Week.
Some of the goals and reasons behind Catholic Schools week are expressing gratitude. This can be towards students, teachers, administrators, and staff for all that they do to provide an amazing education environment with a faith based focus. This week also serves to commemorate the importance, values, and tradition of Catholic education. Finally Catholic schools week aims to celebrate the impact of Catholic Schools and the opportunities it raising for their students not only in education but also in faith and religious education.
