On February third, the Junior Assembly of Reno will be hosting a dance at the National Bowling Stadium, in Reno Nevada.
Check-in for the dance starts at eight pm and people attending this dance must arrive no later than nine-thirty pm. Students must leave no later than midnight and are expected to have a ride home. Junior Assembly provides students the chance to be a part of a small group of teens from each individual high school and get to attend a formal dance, meet more peers, and have a unique experience that can be presented on college resumes. Junior Assembly also provides teens with a touch of community service experience by attending Junior Assembly’s yearly activities.
To attend this dance, there are also certain rules each kid is expected to follow, from dress codes for males and females, to rules regarding conduct and manners. The dress code expected for this dance is formal wear. Females are expected to wear floor length dresses, while still maintaining modesty, while males are expected to wear suits, including a tie and a jacket. If selected to attend this dance, you are expected to be on your best behavior. Kate Pagni, a Senior at Bishop Manogue Highschool who has attended this dance twice before, said that “JA is an opportunity that should be not taken for granted.” Attending this dance can foster and flourish kids unity within our community here in Nevada. It is a chance to celebrate achievements, dress up in fancier attire, and build friendships beyond just the classroom.
