With the rapid approach of college decision day, Bishop Manogue seniors have begun to commit – whether for academics, sports, or greek life. The senior class of 2024 boasts a plethora of accomplished students, the majority of which are committing to big colleges with even bigger plans.
One of Manogue’s most tenacious and accomplished students, Madeleine Jones, recently committed to study the Classics at Stanford University. Upon asking Jones what drew her to her chosen school, she commented, “The main thing that drew me to Stanford was their Classics program (Latin, Greek, ancient history, etc.) because they have a super open-ended program with 5 separate majors, opportunities for research, and a coterminal Master’s degree.” Additionally, Jones elaborated on her career plans and why she has such an interest in the classics. “I’ve been intensely into Classics since middle school, and being able to study it in college is a dream come true.” Jones’ long-term plans include going on to law school and becoming a lawyer, ideally in labor and employment.
Standout football player Ben Scolari has shone on the Manogue football field for the past four years, catching the eye of San Diego State University football coaches. Recently, Scolari committed to play D1 football for San Diego. “A lot of things drew me to SDSU, but the weather and the coaches are the main reasons. It is an amazing campus and the facilities are great,” Scolari remarked on what allure San Diego State University had compared to other schools. On what he plans to do long-term in college, Scolari revealed, “I plan to study finance and construction management there as well as playing football. San Diego is a great place and I am excited to get down there early this summer!”
By taking a quick scroll through senior Kate Pagni’s social media platforms, you can see what a bubbly, social, and fun person she is – she enjoys hanging out with friends and doing good for her community. Pagni plans on continuing her social and service life at Texas Christian University by participating in the Greek life on campus. Upon asking Pagni what factors drew her to the Greek life at her chosen school, she discussed, “What really drew me to my decision to rush in the fall at TCU was the idea of sisterhood, making lifelong friendships, and philanthropy!” Aside from Greek life, Pagni’s long-term plans include majoring in psychology with a minor in child development to become a family attorney.
With the approach of National College Decision Day on May 1, the remainder of undecided Bishop Manogue seniors will begin to make the important decision of where to spend the next four (or more) years of schooling.
The Miner Detail Staff sends well wishes and congratulations to the Bishop Manogue class of 2024!
