The Chess Club held its monthly tournament on February 12, and sophomore Griffin Jones took home the win. Jones, previously being a Grandmaster, fought his way up the leaderboard, winning all four of his games to become champion, earning the bragging rights that followed.
The Club, led by Jones, usually has a timed tournament once or twice a month in various locations around the school. The Club is a great way to challenge your brain while gaining friends along the way. The Chess Club welcomes players of all ages and grades, regardless of their skill/intellect.
