This Thursday, the Presidential primaries and caucuses were held across the state of Nevada and the results weren’t very shocking. The Republican Party saw Donald Trump winning and the Democrat party saw Joe Biden winning.
The Republican party had a caucus and a primary. A lot of the candidates that were running since the last article withdrew before the race. Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy both withdrew from the race after a heartbreaking loss in Iowa, but Nikki Haley has kept her campaign strong. Haley wasn’t on the caucus ballot though she ran on the primary ballot, and she lost to None of These Candidates. That shows the pull that Donald Trump has in the Republican Party. Trump ran in the caucus and he won with 99.1% votes.
The Democratic Primary was even more of an upset. Biden won his party’s primary with 89.3% of the vote. Marianne Williamson, one of Biden’s primary challengers withdrew after getting fewer votes than none of these candidates.
There is one theme that has remained constant through every primary so far, Biden and Trump dominate. They will be the nominees for their party and they will go head to head against each other again in November. The last time there was a presidential election rematch was in 1956 when Dwight D. Eisenhower ran for re-election against Adlai Stevenson. “Dwight D. Eisenhower won this election,” Vonnegut Chadwick of Left or Right Politics said, “If history repeats itself, which it does a lot, Biden would hypothetically win re-election.” We will try to keep up to date with all election news going on as November approaches.
