Bishop Manogue MinerThon recently held their National Pie day on Mar 14, 2024 and it was a major success! This event included many of the students favorite teachers and staff, and helped to raise money for the Renown Children’s Hospital. Teachers included Mrs. Burrows, Mrs. Cope, Coach Howren, Coach Burg and Mr. Werner. All of the teachers took pies to the face like champions! The teacher who got pie’d the most was Coach Burg with 7 pies, and following closely behind were Mr. Farnsworth and Mrs. Burrows with 5 each.
Teacher, Mr. Moss said “boy I didn’t expect that many people to come out, but this event was a slam! I am so happy to be able to participate in such a fun event for an amazing cause.” Many teachers had similar responses, expressing their excitement and encouragement for the event and cause. Although this was the first annual event, many teachers already asked to participate next year, and are encouraging their peers to as well.
Overall the event raised around $250 to benefit children’s cancer research! These proceeds are being added to the total of the money raised through MinerThon, for a total of $16,000. This event and future plans are going to help a family with a child with cancer, and the support of many others. Through the amazing participation of teachers and students alike, we are able to support the local families in our community who need our help! Thank you for your participation Miners, with your help we are supporting our community and the Renown Children’s hospital!
