On Friday April 19th, the Bishop Manogue Boys Lacrosse team achieved another victory against Reno High School. This game would make up the sixth win for Bishop Manogue in the Reno area this season.
Atlas McClure, a freshman on the Lacrosse team, stated “We had two defensive players score goals. 29 Nolan Gaunt and myself.” He also stated it “was a very aggressive game without a lot of penalties.”
Reno High School has competent players, but Bishop Manogue has secured the win against all schools in the Reno area. The game on Friday had perfect weather, with the new spring bringing clear skies, a dry field, and perfect temperatures. The team’s next opponent is against Spanish Springs High School next Friday, which will hopefully lead to seven victories this season. With Manogue’s current track record for success, we plan on seeing another victory this season.
Bishop Manogue’s girls team also competed against Reed High School and Galena High School that week. Maile Green, a sophomore at Bishop Manogue stated, “Both games I felt went really well. We only won one, but I feel like we all played like a team. I’m really proud of all of the progress we’ve made as a team and I’m excited for the rest of the season.” Manogue’s lacrosse teams have seen overall success and improvement because of their recent games. The players on both teams are ready for more wins this season, learning from each other and being the best out on the field.
