In a thrilling comeback, the Bishop Manogue Football team turned a shaky start into a 44-26 victory against the Lancers last Friday night.
After a hard first half, the team made adjustments during halftime that changed the game’s momentum. However, Marley Spuhler, a key player in the Manogue defense, gave them an inspiring pep talk that motivated the team’s spirit. Marley Spuhler said, “Stop acting like we are down. We are up right now, get hyped and let’s go!”
The adjustments made by the coaches proved very effective. In the third quarter, Bishop Manogue’s offense started driving down the field to cap off the Third quarter with a powerful run into a the end zone by Amir McGruider. Then Kyle Nelson, the kicker, came in and hit and easy field goal to make it 38-26. TO finish off the game Brandon Mann launched a deep pass to the tight end Vince Clark to make the score 44-26. This win not only boosted the team’s confidence.
