Manogue’s annual Homecoming Week was jam packed with fun events and activities, such as a Spirit Week, a Football game, the dance, and more, that successfully lifted the school spirit at Manogue among the students.
The Miner’s kicked off the Homecoming festivities with a music themed Spirit Week, and students were able to dress up as different genres, such as rap, country, and indie, on different days. According to student Chloe Peacock, “ Spirit Week really brings up the mood at school. Dressing up gets everyone excited for the homecoming dance and game.”
The Miner student section showed up and showed out for the football game last Friday, and they did not disappoint with the green and gold theme. Students were decked out with gold wigs, green clothes, and decorated posters. Megan Mcabery, a Manogue varsity cheerleader, stated “I have never seen our student section so spirited. It was really fun to watch.”
After the Manogue football team crushed McQueen with the score 45- 26, student’s spirits were especially high when they attended the annual Manogue Homecoming Dance that took place in the Big Gym last Saturday. The dance was “House Music” themed to go along with the Spirit Week, and colorful LED lights and posters were lined around the gym to set the mood. Students danced all night to the music, and most even stayed until the very end.
Homecoming is a fun time of year when Manogue’s traditions shine through, and school spirit skyrockets as Miner’s participate in these exciting events.
