On Tuesday night, Girls Varsity Volleyball, on their Senior Night, fought a hard 3-2 victory over Carson High in a thrilling match that put everyone to work. The Miners took the court ready to fight for their Seniors and create a memorable night for BMCHS, and they executed just that in an exhilarating five-set win.
Bishop Manogue came out hot and ready to fight, triumphing over Carson 25-23 in a back-and-forth battle that set the tone for the rest of the game. However, Carson fought back even harder with a 25-21 win in the second set, equaling the score to 1-1.
The third set came around, leading to an intense and vigorous battle, with both teams exchanging points back-and-forth. Carson High won over Bishop Manogue 26-24, taking a 2-1 lead and putting the Miners under even more pressure. With eagerness and refusal to step down, Bishop Manogue bounced back the fourth set winning 25-20 against Carson, forcing a fifth set to be decided.
In the final set, as the Miners wiped the sweat from their faces, the Miners dominated and maintained their skills to secure a 15-11 victory, honoring their seniors with yet another win. Bella Vazeen, a senior on the Volleyball team at BMCHS said, “It was such an exciting game and it felt good that us Seniors got to win their last true game of the season.” Bishop Manogue’s perseverance were on full display the entire night, as the team’s Seniors led by example, guiding the entire Miner team through a hard fought and extremely well deserved victory.
