This past Friday, the Bishop Manogue Miners varsity football team took on the Reno High Huskies at a home playoff game.
After having a “bye week” for the first playoff game of the 2024 NIAA Football Playoffs, the Miners were excited and motivated to take down the Huskies. Despite the chilly weather, taking down the Huskies was exactly what they did. By the end of the first quarter after scoring multiple touchdowns, the Miners were leading 21-7. They didn’t put their guard down, and at halftime were still leading 35-7. In the third quarter, the Miners were still up 49-14. The rest of the game was full of action with a final score of 62-28, knocking the Huskies out of the playoffs. The Huskies were sent back to the doghouse! A Manogue student stated “This was truly an amazing game and so fun to watch. The players worked hard and the energy and vibes in the student section were on point!”
Star players of the game included Dulin Hukari, Brandon Mann, Marley Spuhler, and Pele Masina, who all helped lead the Miners to victory.
Come out and support your Miner football this Friday 11/15 to watch them play the Reed Raiders at home.
