Bishop Manogue varsity football put on a show last Friday in an outstanding win against the Reno Huskies in a 62-28 blowout, keeping their 6-0 streak alive, as well has their win streak against the Huskies. The last time they had matched up, the Miners won 42-26.
The Miners began the game strong with an iron wall defense, not allowing the Huskies to advance to the endzone. Pele Masina (#20) picked off Reno quarterback Braylon Wilson for a pick-6 to further put Manogue up 14-0 in the first quarter, later going up more by 7 by a touchdown pass from starting QB Brandon Mann (#13) to star receiver Dulin Hukari (#8). Reno’s first points only came in the second quarter, and Manogue responded with 21 points to put them up 35-7 at the half. The rest of the game lead to the Huskies scoring 7 points in the third and 14 in the fourth, while the Miners continued their domination scoring 14 in the third quarter and 13 in the fourth.
The MaxPreps players of the game were awarded to Dulin Hukari for overall, Brandon Mann for offensive, Marley Spuhler for defensive, and Pele Masina for special teams. Congratulations to the Manogue Miners for putting away the Reno Huskies and advancing the regional championships where they will face off against Reed High School for the title on November 15th.
