Bishop Manogue students have kicked off Homecoming spirit week with their “Lost in Wonderland” spirit week. Starting Monday, September 21, students are dressing in a new theme each day leading up to the Homecoming dance Saturday night. The theme of the dance is “Lost in Wonderland,” and students are loving the new whimsical dress-up days, as well as the spirited activities taking place.

Inspired by old and new spirit days, this spirit week is especially exciting for Student Council Historian, Leighton Benge, “We’ve incorporated a lot of the same themes our students love having, as well as a few new ones that we’re really looking forward to!” said Leighton. Returning spirit days include: the class color dress-up, twin day, and decades day. The new themes are especially unique to this year’s theme and include, “We’re All Mad Here,” when students can dress in wacky clothing and hairstyles inspired by the Mad Hatter, as well as “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party,” for students to dress in formal wear fit for a tea party.

Mr. Deruyter, head of Student Council, has implemented numerous activities and events this year to complement the spirit days, which have already generated student interest.

Although the week is only halfway through, students have been showing great participation in the events and dress-up days offered this week!

Friday in particular will be the busiest day for Manogue students, starting off with a Rally during school as well as one of the biggest games of the year, Varsity football versus McQueen Friday night at 7:00pm! Friday night’s student section theme is “Green and Gold,” and Student Council hopes to see all students there showcasing all their spirit leading up to the Homecoming dance!
