Students at Bishop Manogue are asking the cafeteria to serve pulled pork mac and cheese more often after the popular lunch became a favorite among students. The dish, which combines macaroni and cheese with pulled pork, has received positive reactions, and students want to see it appear more often on the school lunch menu.
For many, lunch may just be a break between classes. However, some meals can make students feel more excited about lunch and even look forward to it. Pulled pork mac and cheese is one of those meals, and students are pleased whenever it appears on the menu.
“I think they should serve it once a week,” said Keira Humphrey, a sophomore at Bishop Manogue who claims she is a big fan of this delicious lunch.
Twila, one of the cafeteria ladies, agreed with this statement. She said, “I completely agree; we can look forward to serving it more.” She explained how they are incorporating more mac and cheese in the menu by having it on Tuesdays and soon to be more pulled pork mac and cheese specifically. She loved that students looked forward to lunches like these.
While the cafeteria serves a variety of meals throughout the school year, popular dishes can sometimes seem repetitive. Students who enjoy pulled pork mac and cheese believe increasing how often it is served could give them another lunch option they genuinely look forward to.
The cafeteria would need to consider factors such as cost, preparation time, nutrition, and student demand before making any changes to the menu. However, if enough students continue to request the meal, pulled pork mac and cheese could potentially become a more regular part of the lunch rotation.
Until then, students will have to wait for the next time it appears on the menu.
