The Bishop Manogue Track team traveled to Liberty High School in Las Vegas for the state track meet on May 19th through the 20th. The track team had a fantastic season and was able to have 18 athletes qualify for the state track meet: Kylee Parson, Ashlynn Tripplet, Amaya Aramini, Anna Alonso, Ava Luczkow, Cariann Bryant, Gianna Barsanti, Olivia Reid, Samantha Tolotti, Brock Bryant, Marshaun Brown, Romel Collins, Dominic Zaccheo, Drew Bradeson, Elijah Kirwan, Ethan Schmelzer, Joseph Eidem, and Jacob Stuby.

The top finishers were Amaya Aramini, Ava Luczkow, Oliva Reid, Kaylah South, and Samantha Tolotti with the first-place gold in the girls 4×8 meter relay; Amaya Aramini with second in the girls 1600-meter dash and the 3200-meter dash; Marshaun Brown with second in the 200-meter dash, fourth in the 100-meter dash, and second in the 4×100 meter relay and 4×400 meter relay, along with teammates Romel Collins, Elijah Kirwan, Drew Bradeson, and Joseph Eidem; Carianna Bryant with second place in the girls pole vault, and Brock Bryant with fourth place in the boys pole vault with a PR of 14 feet Romel Collins with 4th place in the boys 400-meter dash with a time of 49.3 seconds, breaking the school record. Kylee Parson with 5th place in the girls 100-meter dash.

It was really hot out there in Vegas but the Miners were able to finish with a total of 20 metals. Overall the Miner boys finished 5th and the girls finished 9th. It was a great season for the Miner as this is the first time in Miner history that Bishop Manogue had 18 athletes qualify for the state track meet. The Bishop Manogue Track team was a really young team this year only losing six seniors so the track team will crush it next year as well. Next year the Nevada state track meet will be hosted in northern Nevada so it will be a lot cooler and hopefully the Miners can get even more athletes to qualify for the state track meet next year. So come out next year for the Bishop Manogue Track team and you can be a state qualifier.
