The Bishop Manogue boys and girls tennis teams took a swing on Reno High on Tuesday, September 19th. The boys team ended in a tiebreaker for the number one seed in regionals. The tie-breaker matches were played by Chase Debruin, Patrick Latterell, Ryder Kiel, Cedar Summersett, Timothy Kazimirov, Will Ferrel, Austin Jaramillo, Owen Dekay and Luca Ballardini. Our boys took home the gold winning the tie breaker 5-4, leaving everything out on the court and making friends along the way. The boys team played in an undefeated season, and now are in the number one season for regionals, which will be played on October 12th, 2023.
Our Girls tennis team also beat Reno 10-9, slamming them in the last singles match played by Amanda Yount and Sydney Tyler Rodgers. Senior Amanda Yount commented: “It was a long match but we both played our hardest and left it all out on the court.” The girls team went undefeated this season, beating their rival team Reno High, and welcoming 5 freshmen to the tennis family. The girls team also went undefeated 8-0 and are looking forward to being the number one seed in the regionals bracket.
