Breaking the internet during the quarantine of 2020, soap brows had everyone in a chokehold. Becoming easily recognized for their brushed-up, fluffy appearance—the beauty technique resembles the effect of a brow lamination but requires significantly less maintenance. The “clean girl” aesthetic was also on a rise, and this brow trend was the ultimate cherry on top towards reaching that highly desirable look.
All you technically need to bring the soap brow look to life is a spoolie and glycerin bar soap—which means that it’s wildly affordable. Better yet, it’s easy to achieve, too. As far as technique goes, little time nor effort is required. (You can get the look in just minutes, if not literal seconds, once you master it.)
Now… I wouldn’t say I totally hate them because when done right and when they actually match the person—they look phenomenal. But, when people start going wild with them and start making shapes and squiggly lines… that is where I draw the line. I’m basically saying that when they are done right—they are a whole moment, but when done weirdly, I just don’t think it’s cute nor do I understand the look.
All in all, I actually would participate in this trend if it worked with my eyebrow structure or even if my brows were a bit thicker. It really isn’t that bad of an alternative if you aren’t willing to spend the money on laminated brows because in the end, you can get the exact same results with a bit of practice. Just please don’t make your brows into squiggly lines or drag them into weird positions because seriously, there is no need for that and that is what I call—an epic brow fail.
