Southern California attracts tourists due to their coveted beaches. This time around, the water will be moving to the tourists.

The most recent hurricane, titled Hurricane Kay, is targeting the northwest coast of Baja California and Mexico. Hurricane Kay is predicted to trickle into the coast of Southern California. “Hurricane Kay could bring a years worth of rain to the drought-stricken Southern California,” CNN reporter Stephanie Elam writes. The targeted region in Southern California has approximately 160,000 acres of farmland that could benefit from the Hurricane Kay downfall. While this would provide immediate relief for the constant drought issues, the number of casualties and the damage done has yet to be determined.

Hurricane Kay is currently making its way through Baja California. Updates on the destruction from Hurricane Kay are coming soon.
