Just this past weekend, both the JV and Varsity teams for boys and girls lacrosse traveled to Idaho to represent Manogue and take on some hard competition. Each team had two games, one Friday and one Saturday. This was a great opportunity for the Manogue Lacrosse players to see some new teams and put their skills to the test!
The Boys Varsity team had a tough weekend. On Friday, the team faced Bishop Kelley. It was a close game and our boys fought well, but ultimately ended up losing 7-12. The next day, the team went on to face Eagle High School. This was another great game, but sadly the team was defeated 7-13. The Boys JV team faced just as much competition. The Friday night game was also against Bishop Kelley. Although they played well, the Miner boys could not get the win. Saturday was another tough game for the team. The JV Miners played Eagle High School as well and fought valiantly, but was unable to beat the other team.
On a different note, the Girls Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams dominated the competition this weekend! Friday night, these girls were determined to win against Bishop Kelley. And win they did! Saturday was no different. The Varsity girls brought their all in the game against Eagle High School and came out on top. Varsity player Alex Jaffe says “it was a great opportunity for all the players to experience some new competition and test their skills.” The JV girls were just as fierce. Their Friday night game was a sight to see! The Miners tied against Bishop Kelley, not accepting defeat. Saturday’s game was truly great! The JV girls won against Eagle High School.
Although the weekend was a success for some more than others, I am sure this is an experience none of the players will ever forget. All four teams played their absolute best and showed what it means to have Miner Pride. The Lacrosse season is not yet over, so stay tuned for how the Miner Lacrosse teams do for the rest of their season!
