Our Bishop Manogue seniors celebrated their upcoming graduation last weekend at Disney’s annual Grad Nite, where they spent the day enjoying the rides and creating lasting memories with their classmates. The event brought together the Class of 2026 for one final adventure, giving students an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and reflect on their high school journey.
The celebration began in the evening after Senior Sunset, where the seniors gathered with friends and classmates to enjoy a highly anticipated senior tradition. After spending time taking photos, sharing memories, and looking back on the past four years, they boarded the buses and traveled overnight to Anaheim, California. The bus ride was nearly ten hours; however, many students said that some of the most memorable parts came from it. After arriving early in the morning, students entered the parks ready to make the most of their day. From the popular attractions to classic Disney experiences, there was no shortage of activities for seniors to enjoy throughout the day.
Grad Nite is a long-standing Disneyland tradition that allows seniors to celebrate the completion of their high school careers in a memorable way. For many of our students, it serves as one of the final opportunities to spend quality time alongside their classmates before the transition to college, careers, and other future endeavors. It also serves as a reward for years of hard work and dedication in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in countless other extracurriculars. Senior Haedynn Maldonado reflected on her experience, saying, “My favorite part was being able to celebrate all together as a class, and just being with everyone!” Throughout the day, groups of friends explored the park together, shared meals, and captured photos to commemorate the occasion. The excitement of experiencing Disney as a graduating class made the event especially meaningful for many students.
Events like Grad Nite emphasize the community among our Bishop Manogue students. As the school year comes to a close, seniors were given a chance to step away from the stress of final exams, graduation preparations, and future plans to enjoy time with one another. While Disneyland’s attractions and entertainment were certainly highlights of the trip, many agreed that the shared experience made the trip especially memorable. Students got to reminisce and recognize how far they have come since their freshman year. Looking around at their classmates, they could see the growth, achievements, and friendships that had developed over the course of four years. The event was also a reminder of the strong bonds formed within the Bishop Manogue community and the memories that will continue long after graduation.
With graduation just around the corner, Grad Nite marked one of the final major events for the class of 2026. As our seniors prepare to walk across the stage and begin the next chapter of their lives, the memories made at Disney will remain a lasting part of their high school experience. We wish all of our seniors the best of luck in the next part of their journey and congratulate them for reaching this important milestone.
Congratulations, Miners!
