Taylor Swift released a full cinematic version of her record-breaking Eras Tour in October 13th of this year. Before the film was even released, it became the highest grossing concert film of all time with presale revenue alone. The concert was filmed at the first two nights of Swift’s shows in Los Angeles at SoFi stadium in August as her last stop on the first US leg of the tour. Thousands of fans dressed up and went to the movie theater to trade friendship bracelets and experience the historic show on the big screen.
As one of the attendants of the first show the concert was filmed at, I can truly say this movie captured the magic of actually being at the concert. The film perfectly replicates the atmosphere of the actual concert not only with the stunning performances and music, but with the way the fans are treating the movie experience. People in the theater were dancing in the aisles and singing along, creating a fully immersive experience that I have not seen at any other movie. It was so much fun to share the concert with the other people in the theater who were just as invested in the film. This allowed fans who weren’t able to get concert tickets to experience the show as if they were in the front row and for those who attended the Eras Tour to relive their concert. The energy in the theater and on screen is infectious and makes you want to sing along to some of Taylor’s most familiar songs. I would highly recommend going to see this film to experience the overwhelmingly positive environment the fans create in the theater and watch one of the most impressive tours of all time come to life on screen.
The Eras Tour Concert Film is in theaters now, and Taylor Swift will be starting the international leg of her tour this November after the release of her album 1989 (Taylor’s Version) this Friday.
